In a time when many US rose growers have been going out of business we have started and continued to grow roses in western Michigan. While this may not be an ideal place for growing roses, the market here needed locally grown roses. So my wife Denise and I, Joe Poirier started this business from scratch back in the summer of '92. Since that start with 3000 square feet of greenhouse, we have grown to 11500 square feet and have added 4 children to our family. As we were often occupied with the raising of our children we have not expanded the greenhouse in a few years. Now we have decided that we need to expand our market and give other people a chance to see how beautiful Michigan grown roses can be. We are still a small rose grower by industry norms. But we hope to change that and give even more people a chance to see how beautiful, fragrant, and long lasting roses can be.
Michigan grown roses will last longer and open wider than most roses grown in other countries. The fact that they are locally grown contributes to that because we are closer to our customers and thus fresher. As they are processed they are kept in water for all except the time they are sorted. Even when we ship them to you, they are shipped with a special product that maintains a water supply for the thirsty stems.
Roses are all we grow so we can be the best possible rose grower. We are constantly working to improve our roses. We also test new varieties to find the longest lasting most fragrant varieties.
Please note that we do not ship on Saturday or Sunday and that Friday shipments cost an extra $10. We only ship in the continental US and the order must be received by noon to be received the next day.
